Yielding to the benevolent purposes of God prepares us for the yoke of kind, gentle, patient service to others.

For not only do people need food, but they need also the touch of a hand, the sound of a voice. For food lasts but a day, but love is for always.

Instructions for applying

  1. Fill out application form electronically or by hand. Give reference forms to four people who know you well and can comment on your personal character, employment record, motivation, and qualifications for the program. Ask these persons to complete the forms and return them to you in a signed, sealed envelope.

  2. Send application together with reference forms to the address above by March 31 for priority consideration. After March 31, we will continue to accept and consider applications as space is available.

  3. We conduct a national criminal background check on all applicants. If there is anything you would like us to know in advance, please include a separate written statement to address these concerns.

  4. After reviewing your application and reference forms, if we think you are a good candidate for the program, we will call to schedule an interview. We prefer to interview in person, and staff may be able to travel if you cannot come to Denver. If this is not possible, however, we will plan a phone interview. Our first round of interviews will take place in late March and early April.

  5. We will make decisions regarding acceptance beginning April 1, and will try to notify you of your acceptance status within two weeks of your interview. If you are accepted into the program, at that point we will arrange for you to connect with an agency that seems a good match for your experience and interests.  If you will need to know your acceptance status prior to April 1, please communicate this as early as possible in the process.
