Learn more on using the Education Award, or see other frequently asked questions at the AmeriCorps website. How much is the AmeriCorps Education Award worth?AmeriCorps Education Award Program members earn an education award of $4,725 after successfully completing 1700 service hours. In some cases, a part-time award may be available (proportional to the number of hours served in allowable activities). Each AEAP member is only eligible for two education awards in their lifetime, regardless of how many years they serve, or whether they have completed full or part-time terms of service. Who is eligible to participate and receive an AmeriCorps Education Award? You must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident alien of the U.S. to be an AmeriCorps member. To participate in GraceWorks, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. How can a faith-based program receive federal funds?Programs that offer AmeriCorps Education Awards may not require members to be of any faith or religion, or to participate in inherently religious activities. If an individual chooses to participate in religious activities separately from the AmeriCorps Education Awards Program (AEAP), any such time is not counted towards completing an AmeriCorps term of service. Any participation in a religious activity is voluntary. GraceWorks Community will consider applications from people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Commitment to the mission and core values of the program is a factor in acceptance decisions, but religious affiliation is not. Volunteer materials:
